Photographer Ryan Creary spent two weeks on the road over the summer, driving through the Columbia River Basin, tracing the river’s flow from Revelstoke, British Columbia, south to Castlegar where the waters merge with the Kootenay River near the U.S. border. Creary’s mission was visiting towns that have benefited from the Columbia River Trust in the form of mountain bike trails, and documenting the scenes that have sprouted in communities that were devastated by dam construction decades ago. The resulting story ran last month, but we had so many more images from Creary’s time on the road, we put together a little bonus photo gallery. Please scroll and enjoy.
