Bike Park Whales has.a new expert jump trail, but it’s less like Whistler’s Crabapple Hits and more like Châtel’s Vink Line. And it just might look better on film than either. In this new edition of Red Bull’s Sound of Speed series, U.K. downhill all-star, Laurie Greenland, sets the bar for a now open-to-the-public trail called Vanta. Greenland, along with Bike Park Whales trailbuilder, Duncan Ferris worked together to design, for the public, the sort of trail that you’d think would just pop up for a shred edit and be razed soon after. We get to watch Greenland make some art on Vanta for a couple minutes, but then follow the Bike Park Whales crew as they plan out the trail, discuss strategy and survive some harrowing guinea-pig runs.
