Greg Watts is one of those mid-school legends who is not planning on disappearing from the sport anytime soon. The Santa Cruz native is now living in Tahoe, and carries behind him a stack of achievements, including a first-place finish in the 2009 Kokanee Crankworx slopestyle competition (read as: Red Bull Joyride through 2021 eyes). Watts’s father was similarly accomplished in the world of motocross until a spinal injury cut his career short, a fate Watts narrowly avoided in 2012. It’s a story that lends itself to solemn reflection, which is what Watts, now a father himself, does in this video produced by Ride Concepts. This isn’t your average shred edit, though there is a pretty harrowing banger of Watts’ father casing a sizable double. There’s no over-roasted whips or slow-mo berm cutties. It’s just a father and son riding bikes. Sit back, enjoy, and have a happy father’s day.
